Brian Shields
NMLS 257882
Brian has been a mortgage broker for 16yrs and counting. An avid supporter of his fellow self-employed small business Brian is constantly looking for ways to give back and support the community that raised him. In 2000 Brian was sworn in as a Clark County Washington Reserve Deputy Sheriff where he volunteered his time as a deputy sheriff helping keep SW Washington safe. Brian was a part of the Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue team that received a lot of praise over the years for excellence in service. In late August of 2005 Hurricane Katrina struck the gulf coast states with winds speeds and damages that all but wiped out the Mississippi and Louisiana coast lines. Just 2 days after the storm touched down Brian had reached out to the Mayor of Biloxi and Gulfport Mississippi once again volunteering his time for search and rescue as well as disaster relief coordination for other volunteers needing daily guidance to help the Mississippi coast recover and start to rebuild. This was intrinsically the point where Brian realized his calling as a servant to others. From here Brian has organized women and children self-defense classes, crisis response classes for families and small businesses and as of recently Brian is working with human trafficking prevention and recovery teams across the west coast.
Brian is a married to his lovely wife Jeanette of five years and is a father to 4 kids. There is no question Brian loves being a dad. You see this 1st hand when you see him and his family around town and their interactions.
When Brian decided to pursue a life in mortgage, he had no clue the intrinsic reward he would experience with so many client’s loans. With the mindset of this industry being a “relationship business” not a “money business” Brian has developed a loyal following of clients, repeat clients and a strong referral base. 100% relationship and referral driven business is what separates Brian from his competition. No one is ever going to feel like just another transaction when they work with Brian. He genuinely cares about the opportunity to serve others and you too will experience this if choosing to work with him. You will also see this in his business reviews on social media and Google.

I am a Pacific Northwest Girl through and through! I was born in Portland, OR and spent most of my life growing up in the small town of Brush Prairie, WA. Graduating from Hockinson High School I then went on to graduate from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
My husband and I have been dating since we were 14 and after college decided to stay in the Vancouver, WA area to be close to our family while starting a family of our own. We have a son, Zeke, who just turned a year old! Along with him, I also have two fur babies- Mac & Charlie.
When I am not hard at work for our clients- I enjoy everything outdoors! We love to go hiking, camping, boating- anything surrounding water!
I am not an overly social person- but love having dinner & movie nights with close friends. I am a closet nerd and love all things Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Marvel, and DC comics.
I am a giver and love making people smile! My goal in this current job position is to do what is best for the families we work for, make the process as smooth as possible, and make sure everyone leaves with a smile on their face!

I think it's important to share who I am with the people I will be working with because I feel it forms a more personable relationship. Born and raised in Canada I am a lover of hockey, maple syrup and poutine! Friends would say I am like Will Ferrell in ELF because I put maple syrup in everything! When I'm not working on getting loans funded you can find me golfing, adventuring or in the water. I am a lover of all outdoor activities and love to fish.I have 3 beautiful kids....errrm dogs that I adore more than anything. The thing I love about dogs is that they just love unconditionally and have some way of turning a bad day into a good one. I also raise ducks, random I know but I love it. At any given time you can find 10-25 ducks roaming around.I love to be silly and make people laugh. There is no greater joy in life than making someone else smile. Our world has been a bit upside down lately so I strive to bring some happiness to people's day.I love all things Charcuterie. I make a board at least once a week, I'm addicted to cheese! And don't forget red wine, love red wine.I love what I do. I have worked in the mortgage industry since the end of 2017 and I couldn't be happier. I love helping others. The mortgage process can seem scary but I do my best to make sure everyone is happy and the process is as simple as possible.I just married my best friend. He's just the most wonderful man and someone who truly makes my heart smile. He almost loves Halloween as much as I do. I plan all year for it, it's my favourite holiday and we go all out on costumes.
